K-12 and Higher Education Institutions are charged with ensuring students have equitable access to learning and access to curricular materials. Leveraging technology in an intentional, thoughtful, student-centered manner can help to improve student learning outcomes. Hillary has taught and consulted in the K-12 environment for over 20 years and has over 3 years of experience working in Higher Education as an adjunct professor. She understands the nuances of both environments, as well as the importance of empowering staff and students to make powerful educational decisions leveraging Assistive Technology, Accessible Educational Materials, and Universal Design for Learning.

Her training programs help K-12 and Higher Education Institutions become skillful at using:

Hillary is experienced in delivering on-line learning and face-to-face classroom training. Her training programs are practical and applicable to all grade levels and disciplines,  meaning your employees and students will walk away with skills they can immediately apply to increase the accessibility of your curriculum, content, and promote independence in learning.

Hillary also offers consultation services, training, guidance, and educational webinars on the selection, acquisition, and use of Assistive Technology (AT), Accessible Educational Materials (AEM), iPad Apps, Mac, Windows, and Chromebook Apps and Extensions that promote accessibility and independence in K-12 and Higher Educational Institutions.

  • App-a-Palooza!: This hands-on, interactive session focuses on the intentional use of iPad apps for learning, access, and communication. Training times may be adjusted to suit your organization’s needs.
  • Build and Empower your AT Team: Looking for support in developing an AT Team and continuum of services? This session will explore methods to build a strong AT team, explore challenges, best practices, and processes in empowering your AT Team! Training times may be adjusted to suit your organization’s needs.
  • Accessible Educational Materials Workshop: This hands-on session focuses on the selection, acquisition, and use of AEM in schools. You’ll also learn about resources and supports to create your own AEM for students. Training times may be adjusted to suit your organization’s needs.
  • One Size Does Not Fit All – Promoting UDL in Schools Workshop: This hands-on, interactive session focuses on the basis of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and best practices to implement UDL in your school. Training times may be adjusted to suit your organization’s needs.
