The National Center for Accessible Educational Materials is an invaluable resource for educators and professionals who are seeking to better understand why delivering content in an accessible manner is so important for educators to know and understand.
Delivering accessible content honors individual differences and allows users who rely on various assistive technologies access to the content without a lot of retrofitting, wait time and frustration. One of my favorite resources is designing for accessibility using POUR.
POUR stands for Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. The AEM Center provides multiple pathways to understand not only the importance of designing accessible content using POUR, but to ensure you will be able to use POUR as a framework in designing accessible content.
If you want to learn more ways to make sure your content is accessible to all learners, check out the National Center for Accessible Educational Materials for powerful resources and training.
